What Are The Signs?

Physical...

Difficulty walking or sitting.

Chronic somatic problems such as stomach aches, vomiting, or headaches.

Torn, stained or bloody underclothing.

Vaginal or penile discharge; presence of anal, oral or genital venereal disease.

Pain, swelling, itching in genital area.

Presence of foreign objects in body orifice.

Pregnancy.

Emotional…

Clinging – a need for reassurance.

Nightmares, phobias or hysteria.

Irritability or crankiness.

Bedwetting (not present before).

Fear of relationships.

Withdrawn, aggressive or hyperactive.

Affectionless or overly affectionate.

Behavioral…

Bizarre, sophisticated or unusual sexual behavior or knowledge.

Eating and/or sleeping pattern changes.

Change in school performance and relationships with peers.

Inappropriate touching of others.

Compulsive behaviors such as repetitive bathing.

Promiscuity, prostitution or substance abuse.

Suicidal thoughts.

Depression.

Note...

One or more of these characteristics present at any given time does not necessarily indicate child sexual abuse. In cases of abuse, these behaviors overlap and are frequently excessive, for a substantial period of time.
